Whales, rhinos, crocodiles or elephants. These animals are among the main motifs in the sculptural works of the Italian artist Stefano Bombardieri. With his works, Bombardieri allows a thoroughly philosophical examination of themes that are immanent to him, such as time and its perception, as well as the tension between the meaning of existence and the negative effects of Western culture on flora and fauna.
The artistic skills that the artist, born in 1968 in Brescia (IT), acquired primarily in his father's studio, result in a mixture of minimalism and conceptualism and find their expression in the form of small and large sculptures and video installations.
Marta & l'Elefante is not only a large sculpture by the artist Stefano Bombardieri, who has already been shown several times at the Venice Biennale, presented in the First Advisory Group. Rather, with Marta & l'Elefante, a work is being shown that already aroused enthusiasm among several hundred thousand visitors in the course of Bad RagArtz 2021.
