The Engadine-born artist gives the raw material wax a new interpretation with her delicate, clearly structured art. She finds her inspiration above all in nature, in the mountains, in layers, reliefs and structures. Wax makes it possible to work in the third dimension - worlds of geometric bodies open up. Finely divided structures emerge from the natural contrast of chaos and order and become works in their own right. By concentrating on the essentials, Ernestina Abbühl's objects have a clear and self-contained effect. The secretive, dense and at the same time sensitive concentration of her works show us the way to the same stillness, concentration and sensitivity that are inherent in the works themselves.
Ernestina Abbühl has been exhibiting her work for many years in solo and group shows, mainly in galleries in Switzerland, Liechtenstein and Austria - including Zurich, St. Moritz, Chur, Mauren, Vaduz and Feldkirch.
