In addition to music and performances, the Swiss artist Luis Coray is primarily concerned with painting. For several decades now, Coray has been dealing intensively with colours and their colour power. The focus is primarily on the material properties of colour in terms of its viscosity, reflection and transparency. The artist's abstract works evoke spatiality, which results from a deliberately generated tension between light and shadow, the dialogue between chromaticism and form.

Born in 1954 in Laax, Ch, Luis Coray studied art history at the University of Zurich. This was followed by studies in speech therapy and music therapy. The artist also brings these areas together in exhibitions and performances, for example when, as a Rhaeto-Romanic songwriter, he presents specially composed songs in exhibitions. However, Luis Coray not only composes pictures and songs for himself, but as the director of the KunstAtelier for children and young people , he also communicates art and culture to a young audience.
