Romeo Vendrame's photographic works are the result of a lengthy process of creation. He lifts images out of the flow of time - his photographs show a concentration of time, condensed time. He sees his photographs as crystallisation points for memories that rise out of oblivion. They are often not precisely outlined and captured on an image carrier, they are between formation and dissolution. Vendrame's pictures show moments in the biography of being human and focus on the essence of existence.
Romeo Vendrame was born in Zurich in 1949. After an apprenticeship as a typesetter, he first worked as a musician before devoting himself to painting and finally, from 1997, to photography. His memorable works have been and continue to be shown in numerous solo and group exhibitions, in Switzerland as well as in the USA, Italy or Germany.
